On the walls

I actually don’t know the couple. Yes! I am sorry, I captured it secretly. I couldn’t let this moment escape as the wall wasn’t crowded with other people and gave success to my shot.

Sunset on the silky satin

It isn’t what are you thinking?

The eccentric scenery is the wavy, unsteady portrait, I captured, the day before when I viewed Karachi’s beach known as the Arabian Sea. If you keep your eyes on the picture for a minute, you will capture the sight of drowning sun, few fishing boats and the purplish satin fabric scattered on the sea.

Sometimes, the calm portraits of sunsets give you enough motivation and the hope of awakening moon strengthens your tomorrow’s vision.

Let’s get relaxed at Karachi Seaside

The calmness and silence of exotic waves, belonging to Arabian sea assures a positive strength as you build up an eye contact with it. It can be terrible and shocking too, if the waves are at rush. Though, alarming situations at the seaside are also dreadful.

There is nothing more peaceful than sitting at the big wall or even huge rocks. Karachi seaside or the beaches are delightful to look at. As I draw attention of my eyes toward splashing waves, beautiful view is fully energetic to refresh and inspire you. The inner soul gets exhilarated as the view make you feel rejuvenating and more fresh. When I jumped out of my car and allowed myself to rest on rocky wall, my hectic life enters in a cooling zone that brings joy and happiness. Staying at the cooling beach is always a delightful experience. Make a plan to your nearest seaside though Pakistan has got beautiful edge of Arabian sea to seek pleasing environment.

Heatwaves Can Be Deadly Too

You may be truly shocked to read the life taking news of deadly heatwaves in metropolitan city of Pakistan. Yes, you read it right, Karachi has claimed around 800 deaths due to severe and scorching heatwaves, in a time period of 4 days. Muslims are also observing holy month of Ramadan, which asks them not to eat or drink in the daylight hours. Elderly and poor Karachities became the deadly victims of hot heatwaves.

Also to improve your knowledge, electricity load shedding is also one of the obvious cause that has worsen the awful situation in Karachi. Can you imagine a day without air-condition and fan ? It is a deadly alarm, which can actually take lives. With the prompt increase in the temperature of heatwaves, the risk of getting more lives also reached high numbers. The situation has evolved into a terrible condition that even the morgue have no capacity to store dead bodies.

Irrespective of all the news stories, relating heatwaves affects, some heartbroken occurrences which I personally observed;

Long queues

How strange it is, to hear that one needs to wait long and long in the queue, just to have some ice, which you actually pay for. I was passing by a market to buy some fruits and I had a look at the longest queue. People, with fast were bound to stay in the line to buy some solid ice to get chilled liquids in the hot summery days. Government has badly failed to provide the basic needs on convenient ways.

Agitation and protests against electricity

As I was coming back to home, I noticed a charged crowd, equipped with sticks, iron rods etc, protesting at a roundabout. Police and government again carelessly failed to bring back the situation to normal. Also, you will be dismayed(if you are not a Pakistani) that the protest was held due to absence of electric supply in the areas for about 5 days.

Jammed hospitals

As we observed a speedy increase in the death toll from deadly and scorching sun rays, the government hospitals were packed with dead bodies and were left ignored. Karachi also lacks with government morgue to store dead bodies, another depressing acknowledgment.

Deadly heatwaves failed to beat the spirit of volunteerism

Whenever Pakistan soil suffers with abrupt situations, Pakistanis are accelerated to offer volunteer services with full contribution toward humanity. The nation unites to relax the sufferers of heatwaves with ice, chilled water and liquids to hydrate the bodies. Loving people of Pakistan never overlooked the fellow human beings and always came up with helping hands to overcome the poor circumstances.

Dehydration and heatwaves has taken lots of lives but we cannot deny the fact that loss of electric supply and acute water supply is also one of the prominent factor to worsen the situation.

Look for remedies to prevent heat strokes. Show gestures of happiness, seek forgiveness from ALMIGHTY in the sacred month of Ramadan and help the humanity 🙂

Heated Up Summers

Pakistan is a blissful country that enjoys four seasons throughout the year.  People take pleasure in coffee days of winters, the falling season of autumn grabs bit of attention, the bloomy spring is always be loved for the eternal beauty of flowers and the sizzling summers are remembered for its sharp hotness.

After the flowery spring season, summers are at the door but not so welcomed by Pakistani people as it gets too hot in summers and temperature scale goes very high. The hot summers bring watermelon and mangoes, the refreshing fruits of the season. Mango being my favorite fruit is a blessing of summer and I love having mangoes three times a dayJ
summers are arrived already before the month of May this year, the weather is extremely hot here.
The scorching flames of sun rays strike burning faces, the brain gets boiled and the sweaty hairs turn into greasier. As I take a step outside from my covered house, I feel the blazing sun rays that hit the face abruptly and alarm my mind to stay cool no matter how hot I (sun rays) turn to be.

People here suffer from extreme hours of troubling electricity load-shedding for hours so it becomes the highlighted issue of summers in Pakistan. This is one of the obvious reasons of disliking summers. The temperature rises to 40 degrees Celsius in Karachi; at times it increases to 45 whereas in the interior parts of Sindh, the minimum temperature is 44 to 45 degree celcius.

Staying calm and cool in summers is a challenging task for the people living especially in Sindh and Punjab. Though air conditioners are greater in use to overcome the heat of sweltering summery days and nights but a large society is also deprived of these technologies.
Give a try to these easy tips to relieve from hotness of summers and come forward to enjoy the blessings of hot summers.

  •  Take chilled fresh drinks twice a day (anything in liquid).
  • Take bath two or three times (make sure the water is not hot)
  • Eat less but healthy (avoid the oily food)
  • Keep fresh salads at meals.
  • Have sliced onions with vinegar (It settles the temperature of the body and protects you from blazing sun)
  • Make sure you keep pulp of raw green mangoes in your refrigerator. With some black pepper and sugar, stir the         pulp in chilled water to get a refreshing drink, to overcome dehydration in summers.

Sabeen Mehmud – a fearless soul

Another beautiful soul has been caught by evil eye of the society and became a victim of Karachi brutal killings, resulting Pakistan suffers again. SABEEN MEHMUD, a social activist and a generous-hearted personality, was shot dead after attending seminar on baloch issue.

Pakistan is truly blessed with optimistic souls like sabeen, who love devoting their lives to voiceless and vulnerable. Sabeen Mehmud was the director of The Second Floor, commonly known as T2F. Her countless efforts will always be highlighted. She was a voice to many. Sabeen reminded the nation that rights, liberties are the beacon of liberation. She fought for human rights throughout her life and sets a prominent example. The tragic unjust death of Sabeen will not go waste. Good work will prosper and her countless efforts will make her dreams come true. . A fearless, humble soul will remain in the hearts forever.

Fashion Of Lawn In Pakistan, Lets Go Shopping!

Women in Pakistan are having the interesting season of time, because it is about LAWN. As the hint of summer season arrives in the region, the investment in the sector of clothing reaches high.

LAWN is a soft fabric made especially for women of every age and class. The lawn fever is an attraction to all the girls and women living in Pakistan or outside of it. There are more than 150 brands of lawn introduced in Pakistan and it is still flourishing on the demands of the buyers. The lawn craze is creating hype among buyers and every woman gets so excited to buy the new prints as it launches in the market. The designer lawn comes up with beautiful designs that one cannot resist to drop 3 local lawn suits to go for that one designer wear. No doubt the impressive designs are so catchy to a woman eye.

As Karachi hardly enjoy winters, so lawn fabric is enjoyable throughout the whole year. The price range depends upon the quality you go for. The big giant, lawn, is taking over other fabrics and maintains a class in the market. Not only in Pakistan, but lawn is in greater demand outside the Pakistan. The designer brands are opening their outlets in other countries to expand the business.

The greater the brand is, the higher the price will be.

Women go especially for lawn shopping and the husbands or fathers keep worrying about paying the bills. LOL ! I also went for some summer clothes with my sisters and we bought around twelve suits. It was just our first market round, we need to go more. I am loving all the prints, designing, the color contrast and the fabric.

From Deepak Parwani to Nadia Hussain, every designer jumps into the production of lawn as the business expands quickly and increases in demands if the designs are outstanding. Lawn comes in simple prints, embroidered collection, semi-stitched collection and formal prêt collection.
Another business which is expanding rapidly is replica. It somehow affects the original lawns to a bit but a customer gets exactly the same design in cheaper rates. Replicas are in favor of customers but those who prefer wearing the original material of high quality never run for copy fabrics and buy original.

To me Lawn is an easy to carry fabric with delicate quality and impressive attractive designs. The extravagant collection that comes in trendy lawn is too gorgeous and stunning.
HAPPY LAWN SHOPPING!

Cricket While Travelling

The clock already timed 9:00 a.m and I had missed half of the batting by Pakistan. Like all other Pakistanis, I just took a cup of tea with half of my mind sleeping but eyes widely opened, quickly switched on television screen and sat on sofa comfortably to enjoy Pak vs SA ICC cricket World Cup 2015. In the meanwhile, my dad came to me and asked to pack bags we are leaving for Hyderabad today. My expressions were surprising and I replied with a low tone, Today? What I heard in return was, we will be leaving Karachi in an hour.

Constantly trying fm radio to be fixed out but it distorted badly then my sister, my cousin and I put earphones on and maintain our focus on fm 103 which was doing live commentary about match as it was the only medium which was our exclusive need. We were on national highway moving toward Hyderabad. The weather was little cloudy with splashes of cold wind hitting our faces through car window. The scenery was immensely beautiful.

The cricket match started becoming too interesting, so as our moods. The wickets lined up to fall against Pakistani bowling and we were cheering louder and louder as the wicket goes down. In between, we lost radio signals several times but I was receiving sms, watsapp updates and excitement survived. We stopped for tea at Ali Baba restaurant, which is beside CNG station. Ear phones still on, louder shout and distracting radio signals, cricket was going outstanding and Pakistan won against South Africa.

As I looked out of the window, we were entering Hyderabad city and the weather was bit warm there. I mean it was hot, summers are almost here. Our hungry stomachs were craving for food and we rested at KFC. I tasted Rice and Spice while others took burgers. As we came out of KFC, I noticed a Chai wala(tea maker) was making tea and a group of young boys were gathered around him. And AB De Villiers of South Africa was the point of discussion among them as he stayed long on pitch at Eden Park, Auckland in the match against Pakistan and it was again about cricket. OH yes, South African players are being famous in the streets of Hyderabad too.

Threatened Feelings

Covered heads on rag,

Hearts filled with faith,

Glittering faces and hopeful,

Offering prayers,

Tears welling and trickling,

ALLAH is great; ALLAH is great,

Came to sacred house,

With positive vibes,

A loud exhaustion heard,

And it explodes.
